Stelios Kerasidis the 9-year-old Greek pianist, composed a moving instrumental to send an anti-war message to humanity.

Inspired by his favorite composer Frederic Chopin and his famous etude opus 10 in F minor, the Greek prodigy sends a message for peace as the Russian war on Ukraine continues unabated a month after the invasion.

Kerasidis: the piano wonder kid

The piano wonder child, who started performing in public at the age of five — and performed at Carnegie Hall at the age of six — has been composing his own music to critical acclaim.

On October 31, 2018, Kerasidis won the first prize at the 2018 Golden Classical Music Awards Invited Winners List after a magnificent performance at New York City’s Weill Recital Hall. Playing a Chopin waltz for his audience and judges, he also became the youngest Greek musician of all time to play at Carnegie Hall.

The Greek prodigy had already won an award at the age of five when he received first prize at the international “Citta di Spoleto” piano competition in Italy.

His piano composition “isolation waltz” during the quarantine, was heard around the world and was considered an anthem to hope and humanity.

Young Stelios started playing piano at three when he took the first official lesson from his pianist father, who is also a music teacher. It was not long before the young boy’s talent was recognized by his teachers and the music world in general.

So far, he has also performed at London’s Royal Albert Hall and Vienna’s Musikverein, as well as played with the Athenian Sinfonietta orchestra.

Kerasidis became widely known to Greek audiences after his participation in the television show ”Greece You Got Talent,” where he amazed both the judges and the audience.
Since then, an entire nation has followed the progress of the prodigy, marveling at his tremendous talent.
