Musk and Biden Feud: All of the Tesla CEO’s Fights with the US President

Elon Musk slammed President Joe Biden on Twitter on Thursday, furthering the ongoing feud between the Tesla CEO and the United States President.

The pairs’ latest spat is over an issue that has been contentious between them for months now: Biden’s effort to popularize electric vehicles.

Biden recently held a meeting with a group of high-powered car executives, like General Motors Chair and CEO Mary Barra and Ford Motor Company CEO jIM farley, failing to include Musk.

After the meeting, Biden tweeted “I meant it when I said the future was going to be made right here in America. Companies like GM and Ford are building more electric vehicles here at home than ever before.”

Musk, clearly miffed at his glaring exclusion from the meeting, responded to Biden by tweeting, “Starts with a T, Ends with an A, ESL in the middle.”

The billionaire spent the rest of the thread replying to fans and supporters decrying Biden for excluding Tesla from its championing of electric vehicles. One user replied to the thread and said “Madness has taken national proportions.. Shame on Joe Biden and Mary Barra for this lie, it’s so insignificant to be like that” to which Musk responded with the now viral tweet:

“Biden is a damp sock puppet in human form”

The origin of Elon Musk and Joe Biden’s rift

This isn’t the first time Biden has chosen to ignore one of musk’s companies. Musk first blasted Biden in September 2021, after Biden had nothing to say about the success of SpaceX’s Inspiration4 mission.

Inspiration4 was comprised of four non-professional crew members– a space exploration first– and safely returned to Earth on Saturday after three days in space.

Musk made his statement in response to a Twitter account that had sent this message to the billionaire: “The President of the United States has refused to even acknowledge the 4 newest American astronauts who helped raise hundreds of millions of dollars for St. Jude. What’s your theory on why that is?”

Musk replied by simply saying that “He’s still sleeping.”

Some speculate that Musk’s “sleepy” jab may be a reference to jokes made by former President Donald Trump, who enjoyed calling biden “sleepy Joe” throughout the 2020 presidential race.

Biden’s silence was in fact deafening, as even competitor Jeff Bezos congratulated Musk, along with NASA.

Musk then deepened his feud with the President last month after Biden introduced the Build Back Better Act. Musk took issue with the bill despite the fact that it contains tax incentives for electric vehicles.

The bill, which failed to pass due to challenges from Senator Joe Manchin, aimed to reinstate a $7,500 federal credit for the purchasers of Musk’s cars. Biden passed an infrastructure bill last month that provides $7.5 billion to establish electric-vehicle charging stations across the country. But Musk is against such government funding for charging stations.

“Do we need support for gas stations? We don’t,” he said. “So there’s no need for support for a charging network; I would delete it. I’m literally saying get rid of all subsidies, but also for oil and gas.”
