A panel of experts from across the economic spectrum will join the next Hellenic Innovation Network (HIN) webinar on Thursday, April 8, featuring a discussion by the founders of four Greek-founded companies on the transition of fundraising from start-up to scale-up in achieving global growth for Greek businesses.

The webinar, which will be held under the auspices of the Greece 2021 initiative,  will be moderated by HIN President Marina Hatsopoulos, from Levitronix Technologies.

The Greek Deputy Minister for Economic Diplomacy, Kostas Fragogiannis, will also explain how Greece’s economic diplomacy supports business in our world today.

Blueground, one of the firms to be featured, which has raised $78 million from European and US investors, offers over 3,500 furnished rental properties in thirteen cities.

The company Metamaterial, having filed over 150 patents for smart materials and photonics, is about to complete a reverse merger to be listed on NASDAQ.

NetData, which troubleshoots slowdowns and anomalies in computer infrastructure, has offices in San Francisco and Athens. It serves millions of users, including technology juggernauts such as Amazon, Google, IBM, Microsoft, and NVIDIA.

The company Epignosis has over 8,000 customers in 126 countries using its training software, which has been ranked #1 by Finances Online.

From start-up to scale-up for Greek businesses across the board

While these companies operate in very different markets, the seminar will explore the common threads underlying each of their successes.

The webinar will feature Alexandros Chatzieleftheriou, the CEO and co-founder of Blueground; George Palikaras, President and CEO of Metamaterial; Costa Tsaousi, the founder of Netdata; and Dimitris Tsingos, the co-founder and President of Epignosis.

The Hellenic Innovation Network has a mission to accelerate technological innovation and entrepreneurship in Greece to world-class level by 2030, thereby fueling the economy as well as job creation.

As an outgrowth of the MIT Enterprise Forum Greece, the HIN was created with the support of the Consulate General of Greece in Boston to facilitate access to resources, partners, and best practices by building bridges between the diaspora in global tech hubs and the Greek tech community.

Driven by an advisory group of global innovators, the HIN disseminates startup news, broadcasts educational webcasts, organizes monthly CEO group meetings, and hosts in-person pitching and networking events.

Under the leadership of George Demosthenous, the Hellenic Innovation Network has created a CEO group consisting of George Demosthenous, from Voda.ai; George Chaliotis, of Mediline; Apostolos Atsalakis, from PNOE; Bill Gianoukos, of GoodPath; and Michalis Boloudakis, of Kinems.

The entrepreneurs meet monthly in a confidential environment to discuss common challenges, exchange ideas and lessons learned, and provide mutual support.

You may register on their website to become part of the community and connect with other members with relevant industry experience and objectives.
