Greek students will now need visas to study in the United Kingdom — a mark of the new reality now that Great Britain is no longer a part of the European Union.
A new announcement says that visas will be mandatory for Greek students to begin or continue to study for the next academic year
All tuition fees will be set by each individual educational institution, according to the academic discipline in question. At the current time, there are more than 10,000 Greek citizens studying at universities in Great Britain.
It is believed that international students’ fees will not be a great deal more than those paid by British subjects and there will be scholarships available. There will, however, not be student loans that Greek students may apply for to help them pay their fees.
The announcement also stated that beginning this summer, international students who graduate from a four-year program of study will be allowed to stay in the United Kingdom for a total of two years in order to search for and find work. For those who have earned their PhDs, that time limit will be extended to three years.
Further information is available at this website, devoted to everything you need to know about studying in the UK. You can apply for a student visa to study in the UK if you are 16 or over and you have been offered a place in a course by a licensed entity; have enough money to support yourself and pay for your course; and can speak, read, write and understand English.
The exact amount of money needed to support oneself in the UK will of course vary depending on your circumstances.
