The Geography of the Coronavirus Outbreak in Greece

Most coronavirus cases in Greece have been recorded in the region of Attica, the most populous region in the country, followed by Ilia in the western Peloponnese, according to figures released by health authorities on Thursday.
Attica has recorded 119 cases and one death, Ilia 41 cases and three deaths. The third largest cluster of cases is shared by the regions of Kozani and Achaia, with nine cases, followed by Thessaloniki with six.
Evros and Zakynthos have recorded four cases each, followed by Larissa with three.
The latest case involves a nurse at the health center of Karpathos, who became the first person on the remote Aegean island and in the Dodecanese to test positive for the coronavirus.
In total, as of Thursday evening, there were 464 confirmed cases in Greece and six deaths. Of all these infections, only 72 are of undetermined origin.
In total, 78 patients are now hospitalized, 16 of whom are intubated, in Athens, Thessaloniki and Patras hospitals.
