"Superman" Panagiotis Rafael Out of Hospital, Returning to Greece

Some very positive and optimistic news came from Boston on Thursday regarding the health of Greek toddler Panagiotis Rafael Glossiotis, who suffers from a very rare disease and has been hospitalized for months in Boston Children’s Hospital in Massachusetts.
Brave toddler Panagiotis-Rafael suffers from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), a very rare disease.
”Our little fighter got out of the hospital and his health is improving day by day. We want to thank you once again for your prayers, your love, and your messages,” a Facebook post from the family of the toddler reads.

The family now plans to return to Greece after having spent several months in the United States during the time their son underwent specialized, experimental treatment which was available only at that facility.
Panagiotis Rafael’s family had managed to raise approximately 3 million euros to send the toddler to Boston for the innovative treatment, which is not yet available or approved in any hospital in Europe.
