According to a new list published by CNN Travel on Tuesday, the Greek island of Milos is among the ten most beautiful islands in the entire world.
The list, which is exclusively dedicated to islands, interestingly does not rank them from top to bottom, but instead celebrates their uniqueness, character, and beauty.
According to the well-regarded American website, the coast of Milos Island has eroded in such a way that ”wonderful arches, coves, and white-sand beaches” invite you to discover them.
The website also suggests that travelers visit one of the many local seaside tavernas and try fresh Aegean fish with chilled ouzo, Greece’s traditional liqueur.
The island of Milos is only about 40 miles away from Athens and it has a permanent population of around 5,000 people.
The island hosts tens, if not hundreds, of thousands of tourists every year, as it is a very popular summer destination not only for foreign tourists but for Greek citizens as well.
Milos Island was recently voted by another acclaimed travel magazine, Travel and Leisure, as unequivocally the ”best island in Europe.”
