Tina Fey and Jamie Foxx are the stars of Pixar’s newest project “Soul”, a heartwarming animated film dealing with some pretty serious topics.
The studio had previously kept a lot of details about the project under wraps, partly due to its deeper subject matter and nature.
Disney had initially only released the following logline regarding the film: “Ever wonder where your passion, your dreams and your interests come from? What is it that makes you… YOU? Pixar Animation Studios will take you on a journey from the streets of New York City to the cosmic realms to discover the answers to life’s most important questions.”
The film revolves around the mythical You Seminar, a school which teaches souls how to develop and build up passion before they enter a newborn child.
Foxx plays a middle school music teachers whose soul becomes separated from his body; he must find his way back with the help of other souls of the You Seminar. Tina Fey plays the cynical character “21”, who has spent centuries in the You Seminar and helps out Foxx.
“Soul” will be released in movie theaters on June 19, 2020.
