Television presenter and famous gardener Costa Georgiadis won on Sunday Most Popular Presenter award at the Australian Logies for 2019.
The Logie Awards, presented in 20 categories, are an annual institution that celebrate Australian television, sponsored and organised by magazine TV Week.
Georgiadis is a well-known landscape architect and television personality. He grew up in Sydney, Australia with his Greek parents and has presented “Gardening Australia” since 2012.
Gardening Australia also picked up the most popular lifestyle program.
Accepting his prize he said: “SBS backed me and then SBS took me in … I’ve been fortunate enough to travel the country and meet people doing positive things.”
“To all the team have backed me from day one … thank you to all of the executives at the ABC for backing a half-man, half-hedge … this Logie is going to travel the country, it’s not collecting dust, I want it sitting on compost bins … this is about taking gardening into the future.”
