The UK-based National Federation of Cypriots recently contacted the British Government and the main political parties in the UK to seek their views on the issue of Cyprus and the prospects of further negotiations for the reunification of the island.
Sir Alan Duncan, on behalf of the government and the mainstream political parties in Britain, expressed their strong will to continue their support for the cause.
The question was asked ahead of the planned visit to the British capital by the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Envoy for Cyprus, Jane Hall Lute.
The National Federation of Cypriots in the UK that is the representative body and acknowledged voice of Cypriots in the UK and was founded shortly after the illegal Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974.
