ANEL Leader Kammenos Determined For Coalition Government to Fulfill Four-Year Term

The defence Minister and leader of Independent Greeks (ANEL), which is part of the coalition government, has reiterated his stance that the SYRIZA government will fulfil its four-year term.
“We will do everything possible to avoid a clash and to complete our government’s four-year term,” he told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency during a press conference at the 83rd Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF).
However, referring to the recent agreement between Greece and FYROM over the naming dispute, which is opposed by ANEL, the differences between the coalition partners was clear: “If the Prespa Agreement comes to parliament, we do not have the mandate or the right to hand over the name Macedonia,” Kammenos said.

However, Kammenos estimated that the Prespa Agreement will not come to the Greek parliament for ratification before the end of the summer in 2019, and he called on main opposition New Democracy leader, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, to state his position on the issue.
