The Acropolis Museum is among the 6 best museums in the world for 2018, according to Travelers’ Choice Awards awarded by TripAdvisor, based on the preferences of millions of travelers using the platform.
The Acropolis Museum, described “as stunning as the treasures it houses” is also the fourth best in Europe. TripAdvisor says that “a clear glass walkway reveals the ruins and current excavations.”
A recent visitor says: “This museum is a delight to tour given the excellent way the artifacts have been displayed. Particularly wonderful are the floor to ceiling windows which showcase the Parthenon on the hill above.”
The best museum in the world was the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, followed by The National 9/11 Memorial & Museum in New York.
In Europe, the Musée d’Orsay tops the list. The British Museum and the Prado Museum in Madrid follow just above the Acropolis Museum.
