Marina Sirtis, known best for her work on “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, is in the newly-released trailer for “5th Passenger”.
The movie started as a crowd-funded concept from Epic Pictures, who wanted to create a futuristic thriller with a strong female lead. The company raised over $80,000 for the film through Kickstarter.
In the trailer, it seems the film follows a crew in space as they must survive an encounter with a strange new vicious life form.
“5th Passenger” had its official debut at the Artemis Women in Action Film Festival. Director Scott Blake, a sci-fi aficionado, was very happy with the end result, stating, “it is inspired by [his] love of the science fiction genre, The Twilight Zone, and Alfred Hitchcock Presents.”
Other “Star Trek” veterans round out the cast, including Doug Jones from “Discovery” and Armin Shimerman from “Deep Space Nine”.
