Fans of NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior” will be excited to learn that there is an upcoming celebrity edition of the show, in which multiple stars including Greek-Estonian actress Mena Suvari will compete!
The reality competition show usually pits top athletes and stunt people in a competition to see who can complete an obstacle course from beginning to end (in the show, this usually starts with floating steps and ends at a warped wall).
Other celebrities and athletes will be competing alongside Suvari, including actress Erika Christensen, Stephen Arnell (“Arrow”), Derek Hough (“Dancing With the Stars”), former New York Yankee Nick Swisher, as well as two-time Olympic medalist Ashton Eaton.
For this special celebrity edition of “American Ninja Warrior”, the competitors will each be paired with an “elite ninja” who will help prepare them for the ninja run, which includes six obstacles intended to test upper body strength, agility and stamina.
The special is part of an effort to raise funds on Red Nose Day, a classic yearly UK campaign that was also started in the US two years ago, which uses celebrities and entertainment in order to raise money for poor children.
Viewers will be called on to donate throughout the Celebrity Edition of “American Ninja Warrior” on Thursday, May 25, at 8 PM ET/PT, airing on NBC. Tune in to watch actors and athletes compete in the show, and donate some funds to children living in poverty.
