Refugee Center in Kordelio Bomb Evacuation Zone

The refugee center set up within the former Softex factory is among those that are to be temporarily evacuated on Sunday. The evacuation, covering a roughly 2-kilometre radius, was decided as a safety precaution during an operation to dispose of a WWII bomb, found buried beneath a petrol station in Kordelio, Thessaloniki, Greece.
The evacuation of the center will be carried out by the Migration Policy Minister with coaches that will arrive at the center at 7 a.m. and transfer the residents to the center of Thessaloniki.
Following a request made by the refugees and migrants in the center, there will be a visit to the city’s Archaeological Museum, a ministry press release said.
