Ancient Nemea to Host New School of Ancient Greek Athletics

Students from all over the world and of all ages will have the opportunity to attend the new School of Ancient Greek Athletics that will be established by the Society for the Revival of the Nemean Games in ancient Nemea.
The Society for the Revival of the Nemean Games has chosen ancient Nemea, the archaeological site in the northeastern part of the Peloponnese where ancient Greeks celebrated athletic and religious festivals, as the absolute place to host this unique ancient sports facility.
Students who choose to attend the new school will become familiar with the philosophy and practice of sports in ancient Greece.
According to the website of the Society for the Revival of the Nemean Games, “The Society for the Revival of the Nemean Games is a movement born from nearly 40 years of excavation by the University of California at Berkeley in the Panhellenic Sanctuary of Zeus at Nemea, Greece, and from the enthusiasm and dedication of local residents of Nemea who feel that they could make an important contribution to today’s world because of their personal ties to Nemea”.
