Tsipras And Juncker Laconic But Optimistic About Greece's Future

Juncker, Tsipras
Immediately after the two-hour meeting between Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in Brussels on Thursday afternoon about the current battle over conflicting ideas for resolving Greece’s financial catastrophe, Tsipras appeared optimistic, expressing his hope for a deal that will make the Greek debt viable and guarantee social cohesion.
Tsipras told reporters: “We will keep working in order to come to an agreement. We are working in order to bridge the remaining differences and especially the differences on fiscal and financial issues.”
And he continued: “We are working to assure an agreement that will ensure Greece’s recovery with social cohesion and viable public debt.”
According to Greek media, Juncker characterized the meeting as “important, friendly and constructive.”
