Known Greek Criminal Allegedly Organized Heist in Trikala

piraeus-bankJust 24 hours after the robbery at Piraeus bank in Trikala, more information has surfaced shocking the people of Greece. On April 2, a film-like heist took place in Trikala, central Greece, with three assailants grabbing 197,000 euros from a Piraeus bank branch and disappearing.
The robbers who seemed to be professionals, brought heavy weapons and wore wigs, hats and glasses in order to hide their true identities. The three criminals escaped in a white van, which has not yet been identified.
The three criminals had no trouble robbing the bank. An eyewitness, described the incident from the moment he went into the bank to see the robbers emptying the ATM machines and the money that every cashier had on their desks.
Greek police believe that known criminal Vassilis Paleokostas is hiding behind yesterday’s heist and thus sounding the alarm throughout central Greece. Furthermore, it is also a known fact that Palaiokostas frequents the mountainous areas of Thessaly and Central, especially the provincial and forest roads, making it difficult for authorities to track him down.
Since yesterday afternoon Greek police have set up roadblocks around Fthiotida, Fokida and Evritania, central Greece, checking passers-by and every car that crosses the area.
