Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met in Brussels with Eurogroup President Jeroen Dijsselbloem on the summit’s sidelines and agreed on talks between the technical echelons of the Greek Finance Ministry and the Troika in order to build the basis for an agreement at the upcoming Eurogroup meeting scheduled for Monday afternoon on February 16, raising hopes of a possible deal.
“This will be a technical assessment of where there is common ground between the current program and the Greek government’s program,” a Eurogroup spokeswoman told reporters.
Another EU official welcomed the news.
