Greek-Australian actress Gia Carides, famous for her roleĀ as cousin Nikki in “My Big Fat Greek Wedding,” has recently joined the cast of “The Olive Sisters.”
The film is an adaptation of a best-selling novel by Amanda Hampson that focuses on the life of successful businesswoman Adrienne Bennett. After years of being a high-powered career woman, her business sinks, forcing her to move from a posh New York City apartment to her grandparents’ olive grove in small-town Duffy Creek, Australia.
Bennett will be portrayed by Leslie Mann. Not much information has been released yet about the roles the other cast members will be playing. However, we do know that Carides’ castmates will also include “Mentalist” star Simon Baker, Josh Lucas, Anthony LaPaglia and Melissa George.
“The Olive Sisters” will be directed by Australian director Fred Schepisi, famous for his work behind the camera on “Six Degrees of Separation” and “Fierce Creatures.”
CaridesĀ has been a busy actress lately, guest-starring on “Wonderland” and “We Are Men.” She recently completed “This Isn’t Funny,” which is currently in post-production and slated for a 2015 release.
