Dead Teen's Parents Press Murder

kanaoutisAfter the death of Thanassis Kanaoutis, 19, in his attempt to avoid a ticket check, while he was on a trolley bus the night of Aug. 13, his family decided to press charges against the inspector and the trolley driver for homicide with possible malice.
Kanaoutis’ family claims that their son was pushed from the trolley after they saw the medical examiner reports.
As far as the circumstances of the 19-year-old’s death are concerned, the medical examiners Dilernias and Marianou said that the inspector grabbed Kanaoutis by the arm and neck, while some witness reports suggest that the inspector did not intend to do the young man any harm.
The victim also had multiple abrasions on his shoulders, as a result of falling and being dragged on the asphalt while the trolley was coming to a halt, as reported in the Greek newspaper To Vima.
The victim’s father claims that his son did not jump out of the trolley, but instead was pushed. The medical examiners were unable to ascertain if Kanaoutis had been pushed.
