Police in Thessaloniki said they are searching for a 43-year-old man who is suspected of having stolen more than 4,000 euros from four unsuspecting women whom he met and chatted with on the social networking site Facebook.
They said he targeted his victims one by one, convincing each to meet him, before collecting their personal data in order to make online purchases.
In some of the cases, the suspect is also alleged to have taken small amounts of cash out of the women’s purses. He is believed to have operated the scam for three months in the summer of last year.
