Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Evangelos Venizelos, the PASOK Socialist leader, is going to Turkey on July 19 for a one-day rapid-fire visit to meet his counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu. They will talk about relations between the countries and regional and international issues, a statement from Venizelos’ office said.
The agenda is the usual but no major developments are expected as Venizelos is still getting his feet wet in his new role as Foreign Minister. He was named to his positions by Prime Minister and New Democracy Conservative leader Antonis Samaras in return for dropping opposition for the firing of public workers.
