Eighteen Austrian journalists from the major press, broadcast and Internet media in the country are visiting Crete, accompanied by His Eminence Metropolitan of Austria, Arsenius.
Welcoming the Austrian reporters in the Region of Crete on June 18, the Governor of Crete, Stavros Arnaoutakis, mentioned the quality standards of Crete including the primary sector and the resulting quality of certified products and tourism, while he also referred to the educational and research institutions.
The Governor of Crete highlighted the primary sector, the unique Cretan diet stemming from the Minoan civilization, the history and culture of the island, and its natural environment.
At the same time, he spoke about the important spiritual and ecclesiastical project conducted by Metropolitan Arsenius in Austria. The two men have known each other since Arnaoutakis was an MEP in Brussels.
The Austrian journalists thanked the District and Regional Governor of Crete for the reception. They expressed their enthusiasm for the beauties of the island, the great archaeological-historical heritage, and emphasized that they will promote Crete in the print and electronic media in which they work to raise tourism in Crete and Greece in general.
