Waterway Link From Thessaloniki to Belgrade

THESS-LIMANIA navigable connection from Thessaloniki to Belgrade through the Morava River is being planned after a deal between the China Gezhouba Corporation and the Serbian government.
The Chinese will deliver a full report of their plan to the Serbian Minister of Natural Resources, Mines and Country Planning, Milan Batcevich, in July. According to their first announcement about it, the river can be made more navigable.
The Morava, a river that flows through central Serbia, will be connected to the Danube and will have two exits, in the south to Thermaikos Golf in Thessaloniki and in the east to the Black Sea.
After the completion of the plan this will be the shortest route by boat from northern to southern Europe. In addition, Thessaloniki will have an important role as a commercial post which will increase its development and will create new work places in a city that suffers from very high unemployment.
