Greek police on April 30 were investigating the death of a 55-year-old woman who died of injuries after they said she she was run over by a man driving her vehicle in Kiffisia, northern Attica, apparently struck following an argument.
According to early reports the victim and the 43-year-old suspect were quarreling in the early morning hours when he took control of her car and ran her over. Police said he was under the influence of alcohol.
The woman and her friend had earlier been reported drinking in her house when she offered to drive him home. When they reached his house, the noise of their argument awakened neighbors who came out on their balconies to see what was happening.
Reports said that the woman got out of her car to scream for help and that the man then jumped behind the wheel and ran her over. She was found on the street by her 27-year-old son who called an ambulance. She had reportedly been speaking with him on her cell phone when hit.
