tsiprasOn March 16, Leader of the Opposition, Alexis Tsipras completed his visit in London, where he met the trade union leaders of Great Britain, and the members of the Coalition of Resistance and Solidarity Campaign organization for Greece.

His first meeting with the unions was held at the Trades Union Congress’ bureaus, where Tsipras spoke with Secretary General of the Trades Union Congress, Frances O ‘Grady.  O ‘Grady expressed the unions’ solidarity to SYRIZA and the Greek people’s efforts to face the austerity policy imposed on Greece. They both agreed to have closer contact and cooperation in the future.

The left-wing politician met John Crow, responsible for the political schedule of the Labour Party. They agreed that the European powers of the Left should work together against austerity.

During his three-day visit, Tsipras had the opportunity to give two very important speeches, one at the London School of Economics and the other at the Friends Meeting House in north west London. He also gave interviews to the Guardian newspaper and to press agency, Bloomberg.
