Billionaire Kaltsidis Loves Koroni

KMO_093360_00463_1Filaret Galchev, known as Filaretos Kaltsidis in Greece, is considered to be the richest Greek with his fortune estimated at around $6.7 billion, which would put him ahead of Spiros Latsis in the Forbes magazine list of the world’s wealthiest people.
Galchev holds dual Greek-Russian citizenship. He is a major shareholder of Eurocement Holding, the largest producer of cement. In the 1990’s he built Russia’s largest coal-trading company, Rosuglesbyt. Galchev, 49, is ranked 22nd richest among Russian billionaires and 175th globally by Forbes.
He also happens to be an admirer of Greece, given his Greek descent as well, and has chosen Messinia as his holiday destination several times. It was reported that he purchased a large area in Koroni where he built a villa.
