Nuremberg Greek Community Offers Help to New Immigrants

TravelerIn Nuremberg, where there has been a strong Greek presence for many years, the Greek community has proved to be very active.

The collective action of Greeks in Nuremberg started in 1964, with the establishment of the Labor Association of Nuremberg. It was followed by the Greek Community established in 1981, which has turned into a uniting pole for Nuremberg Greeks with considerable activity.

Having more than 150 resumes of young people -most of them successful-who are seeking their fortune in Germany, the community acts on a unified, effective, resolute basis and offers its help. It has volunteered to undertake the project of helping new immigrants from Greece.

More than 10,000 Greeks live and work in the municipality of Nuremberg, while those in the surrounding areas reach 20,000. Hundreds of Greek stores and 750 restaurants in the city create an atmosphere of a second Little Greece.
