Onassis Recovering After Fall From Horse

Greek heiress Athina Onassis de Miranda is recovering from a fall off her horse which happened while she was competing in a riding tournament.

The 27-year-old was in Germany with her husband, Alvaro Alfonso de Miranda, also known as Doda, where they were both training to compete in Stuttgart. Her husband released a statement thanking everyone for their support and well wishes while also providing an update on her condition.

He said she fractured two vertebrae  and while they’re not life threatening injuries, she will need to rest for two months in order to let the bone heal. Doda will not be participating in Stuttgart so he can spend time with his wife.

Expected to make a full recovery, Onassis will get back to competing in January 2013 at the Palm Beach tournament.
