One of the greatest events in the field of Speleology, experts in caves, will be hosted in Ioannina from Nov. 4-6 at a meeting of government’s representatives of 86 Caves Throughout the World, co-organized by the International Show Caves Association (ISCA,) the Organization of Perama Cave and the region of Epirus.
ISCA chose Perama as the first stop of the event, that will continue in Antalya, Turkey, where the closing event will also occur. The resident of the Speleology Society, Costas Gogos, said it would contribute to Ioannina’s promotion in general and Perama Cave in the domain of speleology.
“Our goal is to continuously improve the cave and the surrounding area. A significant number of projects is already completed and others that are yet to be completed such as the Paleontology Park, aiming to transform the area into a model of sustainable development, ” he said. Gogos will give a news conference, along with a representative from the Ministry of Culture.
