Turkish Consulate General on the Island of Rhodes Attacked

The Turkish Consulate General on the island of Rhodes was attacked by an unidentified person on early Friday morning.
Greek news agency AMNA said Friday that the unidentified person posted a notice on the gate of the Turkish Consulate General and threw a plastic can full of gas after putting the can on fire.
A police officer on duty at the Turkish Consulate General saw the burning plastic can and extinguished the fire.
There was no immediate damage reported at the Turkish Consulate General. However, the police officer who extinguished the fire was slightly injured.
Greek Police have begun investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, the Spokesperson for the Greek Foreign Ministry, Grigoris Delavekuras, condemned the attack staged against the Turkish Consulate General in Rhodes on Friday.
“Such attacks have openly been condemned by our government. Greek authorities will do what they have to do on the incident”, Delavekuras underlined.
