During his visit in Smyrna, Mayor of Thessaloniki Mpoutaris discussed the potential creation of sea and air connection between Thessaloniki and Smyrna.
The President of the Board of Directors of Tourism Agencies in Turkey, Başaran Ulusoy stated: “We are ready to create a sea connection between Thessaloniki and Smyrna. One of our 2 ferries can carry 200 vehicles. It is suitable for the Smyrna-Thessaloniki sea route.
As far as air connection is concerned, the Izmir Chamber of Commerce Chairman Ekrem Demirtas stated: “We pursue to create air connection between Smyrna and Thessaloniki. We are ready to finance air flights from Smyrna to Thessaloniki”.
“The new sea connection would add cruise routes to Thessaloniki in order to become a hope port”, Aggeloudis said.
