Former President of the Greek Community in Sydney and veteran journalist Mr. Panos Gerontakos passed away at the age of 98.
Mr. Gerontakos wrote for many years a column named “Zikos” in the daily newspaper The Greek Herald.
He was born in Lakonia, Greece, served in the EAM-ELAS during the Greek civil war and then migrated to Australia almost 60 years ago.
Mr. Gerontakos had been deeply involved with the community and served for 7 years as President of the Greek Community in Sydney and New South Wales.
