On the 12th of November, a 32-years-old woman tried to steal two T-shirts from a large shop in Patras. The owner of the shop realizing that the woman was trying to steal immediately called the police.
The owner filed a lawsuit against the young woman that ended with her imprisonment. During her imprisonment, the jail warden and others heard a commotion, and on checking the ward, found that the young woman hung by a bed sheet in her cell.
She was given first aid at the jail and shifted to Patras Hospital, where she was declared dead.
According to the investigation into the death that has been conducted, the woman had tried commit suicide by using a sharp knife before choosing to hang herself with bed sheets.
