European ministers Tuesday discussed the sustainability of Greece’s debt, but will await the report of the troika of European Commission, European Central Bank and International Monetary Fund on Greece’s rescue program before taking any decision, German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said.
“It’s clear that Greece wants to and will stay in the euro zone,” Schaeuble said after the meeting of European Union finance ministers. “We want to have the final report of the troika, it’s the basis for a decision” on whether the next tranche of the rescue agreement will be paid out.
After seeing the report, it remains to be seen whether additional measures in Greece may be necessary, he said.
