West Nile Virus: 2 Deaths and 46 Cases Reported So Far

Two people have died of the West Nile virus, while a total of 46 cases have been reported, according to a statement of KEELPNO.
Ten cases have been recorded in Eastern Attica, and the rest in Thessaloniki, Karditsa, Larissa, Trikala, Serres, Imathia, Viotia and Pella.
Of the 46 people who became ill, 36 had serious problems in the central nervous system (encephalitis and / or meningitis and / or acute flaccid paralysis) and 10 minor events (febrile illness).
23 patients have been discharged from hospital, 20 remain hospitalized, five are in the Intensive Care Unit, while one person did not need to be hospitalized.
