Shepherds and locals hectically prepared for the big 4th Cheese Festival which took place in Zoniana, Rethumno on July 31st.
The festival included the presentation and cutting of the largest kefalograviera in the world. The cheese measured 2 meters in diameter and was made with 8 tons of milk.
The celebration gave the opportunity for visitors to meet and taste local cheeses from the village and form Chef Club of Crete. Furthermore, a painting exhibition of Gianni Parasiri (Painter of Aida) was planned for today. Live concert and good Cretan music will be a constant throughout the festival!
