Greek-Australian Dr. Pantos Leads IVF Method in Greece

More than  250 Australian kids were born in Greece with the method of IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) that Greek-Australian doctor Kostas Pantos has adopted in the Clinic of the Human Reproduction “Genesis”.

Dr. Pantos is a very famous scientist whose innovations have many times occupied Australian and international press. Dr. Pantos was born in Melbourne but came back to Greece with his parents when he was 6 years old. During the years of the Greek dictatorship, his family went back to Australia, where he stayed to attend college. After he returned to Greece. His studies and his good connections in Melbourne and Athens still help him cooperate with many Australian institutes and scientists.

Dr. Pantos says that many couples from Australia come to Greece with their own gene to take a foreign ovum because they haven’t found an appropriate one in Australia. “The Australians also prefer coming to Greece”, says the Greek scientist, “because in Australia the donator has to be a familiar person who will have access to the kid, so as when the kid grows up could meet his/her biological father or mother. Neither the couples nor the donators like this situation and that is what makes Greece a popular country for IVF.”
