Greek Students Film Competition Planned for October, Melbourne

The Greek Students Film Competition of Melbourne, following last year’s success, is being formed this year for the first time on a Pan-Australian basis, for all students of the 5th continent, who learn Greek and are taught the Greek culture. The competition will take place next October in Melbourne. It is realized on the occasion of the Greek Film Festival of Australia and is co-organized with the Education Office of the Consulate General of Greece in Melbourne and with the support of the Victorian state government’s Department of Education and Early Childhood Development. School classes, student groups or individual students, who are taught the Greek language and culture, can participate in the competition. For the first time this year, students from all the states of Australia and New Zealand, have the chance to take part in the short-film competition, helped by a supervisor. The participation could be a short story, a documentary or an animation. The duration of the film should not be longer than four minutes and must primarily use the modern Greek language.
