Blame Placed on Ministry of Foreign Affairs Over Greece’s Absence from “WinterFancyFoodShow”, San Francisco

The General Consul in San Francisco, John Andreadis wrote a letter, decrying the absence of Greek entrepreneurs from the “WinterFancyFoodShow”.  This is the most important international food exhibition and was held last month in the U.S.A.

Meanwhile, professional organizations blame the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.  The Ministry is in charge of organizing this type of event and to inform entrepreneurs. George Kassimatis, on behalf of the Chambers, expressed his disappointment about the disinterest of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kouvelis.  Kouvelis does not implement a coordinated policy concerning Greek exports. The professional organizations claim that there is an absence of coordinated initiatives from the government’s part, so the Greek enterprises cannot participate in such international events. Greek products were promoted by several enterprises, responsible for their distribution after a decision by Greek and American entrepreneurs. Italy and Turkey were strongly represented in the exhibition.
