Greek Feed up to Help Flood Victims

A Moonee Ponds Greek restaurant has jumped on board to help raise funds for the Queensland flood victims this month.
Philhellene Restaurant hopes to collect $4000 in a lunch fundraiser on Australia Day from noon.
Restaurant owner Susie Rerakis said in times of need we all have to help each other.
“There are thousands of volunteers out there recovering missing people and cleaning up the rubble. The least we can do is help out financially,” Mrs Rerakis said.
“Seeing the swept-away kids, the cars and the flooded houses really brings it home for us.”
The restaurant will host a three-course lunch featuring traditional Greek and Cypriot dishes made by former MasterChef participants Dan Aullsbrook and Philip Vakos, with all proceeds going to Queensland’s flood appeal.
Mrs Rerakis said 55 generous food enthusiasts can join the lunch.
She promised the menu will feature delicious desserts.
To make a booking visit Philhellene Restaurant, 553 Mt Alexander Rd, Moonee Ponds or phone 9370 3303.
