Crime Figures Decline in Attica in Recent Months

Police figures were made public yesterday regarding crime control  in Greece.
Specifically they show a decline in robberies and burglaries which is attributed to a reinforcement of police patrols in Attica and its provinces. A total of 6,833 bank raids and break ins were reported in June, down from 7,265 in May and 8,773 in March. Of these raids, 3,870 were reported in Attica last month, as compared to 4,400 in May and 5,584 in March. In addition, there was a particularly sharp drop in the number of bank robberies reported in Attica. 9 were reported in June compared to 40 in March.
Comparing the different reports, one can understand that police can achieve positive results in combating crime; by paying more attention to regions that are of high risk by reinforcing police patrols.
