Israeli tourism to Greece reached a record 743,841 arrivals in 2025, rising 19.82 percent from 620,805 in 2024, according to the annual report of the Office for Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Greek Embassy in Tel Aviv.

The increase was even sharper compared with 2023, when Greece received 479,163 visitors from Israel. Over two years, arrivals grew by more than 264,000.

Israeli travelers accounted for 1.71 percent of all tourist arrivals in Greece in 2025, up from 1.59 percent in 2024, despite geopolitical instability and the effects of the war on travel and economic activity.

Israeli tourism to Greece sees strong demand continue into 2026

Demand for Greek destinations remains particularly high for the summer 2026 season, with the report indicating that last year’s record could be matched or exceeded.

Greece’s proximity to Israel and relatively short flight times continue to support travel between the two countries. Athens International Airport also provides onward connections to destinations across Europe, adding to Greece’s accessibility for Israeli passengers.

Israeli Investment Remains Active

Israeli economic activity in Greece extends beyond tourism, with investment concentrated in real estate, hotels and tourism-related developments, as well as properties used for short-term rentals.

Investment flows from Israel to Greece totaled 86 million euros in 2025, down from 129 million euros in 2024. Despite the decline in annual investment value, the embassy report recorded continued Israeli interest in the Greek market.
