The striking motor-sailing cruise ship Club Med 2—one of the largest sailing vessels in the world—has docked in Chania, Crete, carrying 270 passengers.
Operated by the French vacation company Club Méditerranée, the vessel was originally built in 1992 and underwent a major overhaul in 2008. Spanning eight decks, the ship can accommodate up to 386 guests serviced by a 214-member crew.
Measuring 194 meters (636 feet) in length, 20 meters in beam, and with a draft of 5 meters, Club Med 2 features 186 luxury staterooms, including ten spacious 35-square-meter suites. Among its premium amenities are two saltwater swimming pools and a custom stern sports marina, allowing guests to launch water sports activities directly from the hull into the open sea.

The ship’s most distinctive feature is its five iconic masts holding seven computer-controlled sails that cover a total area of 2,400 square meters. In addition to wind power, the vessel is equipped with two diesel-electric engines capable of reaching speeds up to 15 knots.
Alongside its sister ship, Wind Surf (originally built as Club Med 1 and now operated by Windstar Cruises), Club Med 2 stands as one of the largest sail-assisted cruise ships in the world.
