Over a hundred Greek-American and Philhellenic entrepreneurs gathered recently in Boston to explore what it means to build a modern business rooted in ancient values.

Hosted by Hellenic Boston Businesses Unite (H.B.B.U.) in partnership with the National Hellenic Society and KefiFM, The Art of Greek Entrepreneurship event turned what could have been a standard networking night into an inspiring celebration of heritage, resilience, and community leadership.

The centerpiece of the evening was a dynamic panel discussion featuring three standout Greek-American entrepreneurs:

  • Eleni Theochari, Founder & CEO of Mykonos Luxury Corporation
  • Irina Kapetanakis, Founder of IK Advisory and multi-unit owner of Rumble Boxing
  • Demetri Tsolakis, Co-Founder & CEO of Xenia Greek Hospitality

Greek heritage and business innovation

The speakers shared candid stories from their professional journeys, reflecting on how their Greek heritage serves as a blueprint for business innovation and perseverance. From navigating industry disruptions to leading with philotimo (the distinct Greek virtue of honor and doing right by others), the panel offered actionable insights that kept the audience engaged long after the formal discussion ended.

“The enthusiasm from our attendees reaffirmed how vital it is to create spaces where professionals can connect, learn from one another, and celebrate our shared heritage,” said H.B.B.U. Founder Panayiota Asimacos. “We are incredibly grateful to partner with organizations that share our vision for unity, philanthropy, and community engagement.”

The event also drew strong support from national leadership, including National Hellenic Society Executive Director Arthur Dimopoulos and Chairman Emeritus Drake Behrakis, both of whom have been instrumental in fostering opportunities for the next generation of Greek Americans.

This evening marks another milestone in a busy year for H.B.B.U. The non-profit has quietly become one of Boston’s most active cultural and professional networks, hot on the heels of their annual Radiothon for the Metropolis of Boston Camp, professional development nights, and seasonal networking mixers.

For the attendees who stayed late into the evening exchanging business cards and ideas, the message was clear: Boston’s Greek business ecosystem isn’t just growing—it’s thriving by looking forward while staying deeply connected to its roots.
