Olympiacos captured the 2026 EuroLeague title on Sunday night after defeating Real Madrid 92-85 in a dramatic championship game in Athens, securing the club’s fourth European crown and ending a 13-year wait for continental glory.

Playing before a passionate crowd at the EuroLeague Final Four in Athens, the Greek giants overcame a strong start by Real Madrid before taking control late in the game with key performances from Evan Fournier and Alec Peters. Fournier finished among the standout players of the final and was later named the 2026 EuroLeague Final Four MVP.

Real Madrid entered the final seeking a record-extending 12th EuroLeague title and at several moments looked capable of taking control of the game despite important absences in their frontcourt rotation. The Spanish side opened the match aggressively and built an early advantage behind strong offensive performances from Mario Hezonja and Andrés Feliz.

Olympiacos gradually responded through defensive intensity, rebounding dominance, and improved shooting in the second half. The atmosphere inside the arena intensified as the Greek club erased the deficit and moved ahead during the final quarter.

The victory carried extra significance for Olympiacos, which had suffered painful defeats in recent EuroLeague finals, including the dramatic loss to Real Madrid in the 2023 championship game. Sunday’s triumph marked the club’s first EuroLeague title since back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013.

Following the final buzzer, celebrations erupted among Olympiacos players and supporters as red-and-white flags filled the arena. Videos shared online showed emotional scenes from both the court and around Greece, with fans chanting and celebrating long after the trophy presentation.
