Greece’s President Konstantinos Tasoulas, addressed the opening speech on Wednesday at the Delphi Economic Forum by referring to the current international situation.
He stressed that Greece “supports transatlantic ties, while it contributes to efforts for its strategic autonomy, and the de-escalation of the trade war that is harmful to everyone, always advocating for a unified European policy.”
As he noted, “in an era in which global upheavals and radical changes are already apparent in both geopolitics and geoeconomics, with a pre-war-style imposition of intense protectionism that is disrupting and worsening the post-war global free economic system, our country is called upon to walk on familiar and tried-and-tested paths.”
World leaders, analysts, and policymakers gathered in Delphi, Greece, for the 10th Delphi Economic Forum to discuss the geopolitical and economic realignments shaping the global landscape.
Under the theme “Realignments”, this year’s forum, held from April 9 to 12, brings together top government officials, business leaders, and academics to address regional conflicts, energy security, technological advancements, and shifting global power dynamics.
“As geopolitical and economic landscapes evolve, the 10th Delphi Economic Forum aims to deliver strategic solutions and shape the next decade of policymaking and international cooperation,” Delphi Economic Forum President Symeon Tsomokos told reporters during a press conference.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will attend the 10th Delphi Economic Forum. Other attendees include Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev, Bosnia and Herzegovina’s President Željka Cvijanović, and OECD Secretary-General Mathias Cormann.
The forum, which includes major institutions such as the OECD, World Bank, European Investment Bank, and NATO, has over 1,000 speakers from over 50 countries.
Moreover, more than 20 government ministers and renowned global figures participate in discussions on international relations, energy, and the economy. Among them are former Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, former Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu, and former US Deputy Secretary of State Geoffrey R. Pyatt.
Speeches, roundtable discussions, debates, and networking opportunities will be accessible to all attendees to spark dialogue, inspire change, and transform conversation into action.
The agenda will cover Europe’s strategic challenges, security and defense, innovation, and sustainability, as well as evolving relations between the EU, US, China, and Russia. Greece’s economic prospects—including key sectors such as shipping, tourism, real estate, digital transformation, and energy—will also be examined.
With support from over 30 leading think tanks and institutions, including Chatham House, RAND Corporation, and the London School of Economics, the forum fosters high-level dialogue and actionable insights.
