The story follows Alex (Aida Folch), a young Spanish woman who arrives late to start her summer job at a seaside restaurant on an idyllic Greek island. There, she finds herself drawn to the mysterious background of the restaurant’s American owner, Max (Matt Dillon).
The owner seems to have serious secrets from his past that affect his life and business. As their relationship begins to intensify, Max’s dark side begins to emerge in captivating ways.
Haunted Heart‘s main shooting took place in late 2022 in the stunning Greek town of Trikeri at the southern point of Mount Pelion, the mythical home of the centaurs.
Haunted Heart is film produced by Spanish-Colombian production, and it involves several notable production companies, including Atlantika Films, Fernando Trueba Producciones Cinematográficas, Caracol TV, RTVE, Ekome Greece, Deloitte Spain, and Film Constellation.
This international collaboration brings together talented filmmakers and actors of various backgrounds with differing views and artistic styles, making for a unique and intriguing cinematic experience.
Before its general release in Spain, Haunted Heart opened the Atlantida Mallorca Film Festival last July. Distribution rights have been acquired by Signature Entertainment for the UK and Ireland and VMI Releasing for North America.

Trikeri is a beautiful small and picturesque Greek town at the westernmost point of the hook-like Pelion Peninsula on the Pagasetic Gulf. It is in the eastern part of the Greek mainland.
Located at a distance of 81 kilometers (50 miles) from the city of Volos, it is a truly hidden gem, known and enjoyed by the lucky few who know of it.
The actual town of Trikeri is at the top of a hill overlooking the sea; however, it has a port village, Agia Kyriaki, that serves as its port entrance.
Up until 1970, Trikeri was not accessible by land. The only way for someone to visit it was by sea. Because Trikeri was so isolated, it felt more like an island, and residents were known for their seamanship.
During the Greek War of Independence in 1821, Trikeri had one of the largest fleets of any Greek region.
