A video footage of an alleged 10-ft alien creature in a Miami mall has gone viral in social media, generating conspiracy theories about alien creatures living among us.

The footage of a new year’s day brawl between teenagers at Miami’s Bayside Marketplace  followed by a massive police response created a stir, as it supposedly shows an alien creature walking next to the police cars.

The video has been posted in social media such as X (former Twitter), and has divided viewers. It contains fireworks, a big brawl and later a large number of squad cars rushing to the scene.

Mixed in with the footage of the alleged alien were videos of people running in panic from the site, with some users claiming that the people running from the scene are running scared because of the alien.

The blurry footage has sparked a great number of comments regarding theories about aliens walking among us.

What generated the theories is the police response with about 60 squad cars arriving at the scene. Miami Police Department confirmed on Monday it received a call of shots fired and eventually concluded the reported sounds came from the fireworks.

“There were no aliens, UFOs, or ETs. No airports were closed. No power outages,” Miami Police Department told Forbes in an email, adding that citywide police cars were deployed for crowd control due to the great number of juveniles refusing to leave the area.

Aliens in Miami Conspiracy Theories

Some people analyzed the mixed footage of the scene outside the Miami mall and  developed the theory that an alien creature was the real cause of the turmoil.

The Miami Police Department statement did not convince conspiracy theorists who claim that police was there to cover up the existence of alien creatures.

Several videos are posted in social media claiming that aliens live among us. The Miami mall incident is added to the list vas proof. Not only of their existence but also of the government’s continuous efforts to keep it a secret.

At the same time, the conspiracy theory claims are made fun of in social media as well. Radio shows, podcasts and YouTube videos reply to these theories with humor. However, those who believe in such theories remain stern to their beliefs:

“The easiest way to keep a successful conspiracy going is to get people to ridicule it,” wrote a YouTube viewer in reply to a show that comments humorously on the existence of aliens on Earth.

Nevertheless, according to the Forbes report on the Miami mall story, there are US officials who do not refute the claim that aliens exist. In July, former intelligence official David Grusch said in a congressional hearing that “non-human biologics” were at alleged crash sites of UFOs (now referred to as unidentified aerial phenomena, UAPs).

Grusch also said that he knew multiple colleagues injured by UAPs and claimed that the U.S. government ran a decades-long program designed to collect and reverse engineer crashed UAPs.
